Write to nixe.cxt@gmail.com. It helps to include:
- Your device: which iPhone or iPad.
- Your iOS or iPadOS version: in the Settings app, General › About.
- Pico’s version and build: in Pico, Settings › About Pico shows them under the name.
- What happened, what you expected instead, and the steps that lead to it. A screenshot or screen recording helps.
Nothing you enter in Pico reaches us, so we can’t look anything up or recover lost data for you. Please don’t send a backup file or full account numbers.
Pico Plus
Pico is free to use. Pico Plus is an optional in-app purchase: monthly, yearly, or lifetime (one payment). The app shows the price for your country.

The 80 entries reset at the start of each month. Spends logged by Siri, Apple Pay, a bank message or a receipt count. Transfers, refunds and bills that post themselves don’t.
The free trial
The yearly plan starts with 14 days free for new subscribers; Pico shows the trial only when your Apple Account can still take it. Cancel at least a day before the trial ends and you won’t be charged. While it runs, Pico’s Settings shows the date it ends, and if you allow notifications, Pico reminds you two days before the first charge.
Restore a purchase
In Pico, open Settings and tap Restore Purchases in the Pico Plus section. The Pico Plus offer also has Restore at the top. Plus belongs to the Apple Account that bought it, so it comes back on a new iPhone or iPad, or after you reinstall Pico, while you are signed in with that account.
Manage or cancel
In the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Pico. If you subscribe, Pico’s Settings also has Manage subscription, which opens the same page from Apple. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel, so cancel at least a day before it renews. Plus stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Lifetime is a single payment and never renews.
Refunds
Apple takes the payment for Pico Plus, so refunds go through Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your data
Pico has no account: nothing to sign in to, and no password to reset. Your books are stored on your device and, with iCloud Sync on, in a private database in your own iCloud that we can’t read. The iCloud Sync switch is in Pico’s Settings, under Data. After changing it, quit and reopen Pico.
Moving to a new iPhone or iPad
- With iCloud Sync on, use the same Apple Account on the new device, then install and open Pico. Your books come back from iCloud, which usually takes a moment; Pico may show Restoring from iCloud while they arrive.
- Without iCloud, export a backup on the old device (see below), move the file with AirDrop or Files, and on the new one choose Import Backup, then Replace everything.
- Pico Plus comes back with your Apple Account. If it doesn’t show, tap Restore Purchases.
- Apple Pay and bank-message automations may not move across. Check they are in the Shortcuts app, or set them up again from Settings › Quick Capture.
Backups
Settings › Export / Import › Export Backup saves everything into one file: books, accounts and balances, transactions, categories, budgets, recurring items, savings, holdings and exchange rates. Keep it in Files or iCloud Drive, or AirDrop it to another device. Import Backup can replace everything, after saving a safety copy of your current data, or merge the backup into what is already there.
Before an import replaces your data, and before Erase All Data or Delete All Transactions unless you switch off Save a backup first, Pico saves a safety copy and keeps the last five under Safety Copies on the same page. Emptying the Recycle Bin makes no copy. Safety copies stay inside Pico and are lost if you delete the app, so export a file now and then.
Erase All Data
Settings › More Settings › Erase All Data deletes everything: books, accounts, categories, budgets and history. Pico then opens like a new install. It offers to save a backup first. With iCloud Sync on, the deletion syncs too, so Pico is cleared on your other devices. To keep your iCloud copy, switch off iCloud Sync, reopen Pico, then erase.
Quick Capture
Quick Capture logs a spend without the keypad. Its settings, setup guides and a test box are in Settings › Quick Capture.
Siri
Say “Hey Siri, log an expense in Pico”. Siri asks what you spent and where; answer with the amount and the place, like “340 Swiggy, note team lunch”. You can also ask “How much is left in my Pico budget?” or say “Undo my last Pico entry”. Logging a spend also works from the Action Button, Spotlight and Control Center.
Your requests appear under Recent Siri requests on the Quick Capture page. If you asked and nothing shows up there, Siri didn’t reach Pico: say the app’s full name, “Pico Budget”, as in “Hey Siri, log an expense in Pico Budget”. If Siri says logging with Siri is off, turn it back on under Siri & Action Button on the same page.
Apple Pay and bank messages, on iPhone
No app can read your messages or your Wallet on its own, Pico included. Instead, you make an automation once in Apple’s Shortcuts app that hands each Apple Pay payment, or each debit message from your bank, to Pico. On the Quick Capture page, tap Set it up under Apple Pay or Bank messages. The guide has an Open Shortcuts button and every step, and shows Working once the first payment or message reaches Pico. In Shortcuts, Pico’s actions are Log Card Payment and Log Bank SMS.
By default, spends from Apple Pay and bank messages wait on Home for a quick check, and spends you tell Siri are saved straight away, once Siri has asked about anything Pico couldn’t tell, such as how you paid. Each source’s New spends setting changes that. Bank credits, OTPs and “will be debited” reminders are ignored on purpose.
When a spend doesn’t arrive
Try it, on the Quick Capture page, shows what Pico reads from a pasted bank message or a typed spend such as “340 swiggy”, without saving anything. If Pico can’t read a message there, it can’t read it from the automation either. Each guide also ends with fixes under If nothing shows up. The usual ones:
- In Shortcuts, the automation must say Run Immediately.
- For bank messages, the sender must match exactly. Copy it from one of your bank’s texts.
- Only Apple Pay on that iPhone triggers the Apple Pay automation. A physical card, or a card typed into a website, won’t.
Pico on iPad
Pico on iPad is the same app. With iCloud Sync on and the same Apple Account on both devices, it shows the same books. In a wide window the tabs move into a sidebar, which also gives Recurring, Savings, Trips & events and People pages of their own; in a narrow window Pico keeps the tab bar. Pico needs iOS or iPadOS 26.1 or later.
- Siri and receipts work on iPad too, and you can drag a receipt photo or PDF onto Pico.
- Apple Pay and bank-message automations run on the iPhone that receives the payment or message. What they log appears on the iPad once it is saved.
- Spends waiting for a check stay on the device that caught them until you confirm them there.
- Pico Plus works on both. If it doesn’t show on one, tap Restore Purchases there.
Privacy and terms
How Pico handles your information is set out in the Pico privacy policy. In short: there is no account, no analytics and no advertising, and nothing you enter reaches us.
Pico’s Terms of Use are Apple’s standard licence agreement for apps from the App Store. You can open both from the app, under Settings › About Pico and on every Pico Plus offer.
